Happy Belated Birthday MOM!

I had to wish my mom a happy birthday or she would be mad at me.  I'll add a picture at a later date.

We are back from Vegas.  We lost money, we are feeling refreshed and ready to bring in the new year.

I will post pictures later from Christmas.

My Two Front Teeth

Well this morning Samuel's other front tooth came in.  I guess he got his two front teeth for Christmas.  Kind of funny.

My parents are on their way in town.  We are going to have a nice dinner, open presents and relax.  Tomorrow Dave and I leave for Vegas.  We can barely stand it.  We are so excited.  I am a little nervous about leaving Samuel, but I know he will be fine with my parents.

Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy Hanukkah too.  I will post when we get back in town.

What a weekend

I don't think we have had such an eventful weekend in a long time.

On Thursday Samuel and I left for Michigan.  It was our first flight, just the two of us.  He did amazing.  He didn't get cranky at all.  We made it into Michigan with no problems.  The weather forecast indicating that a huge storm was supposed to be coming to Michigan at 4 am on Friday.  Dave was worried that he wasn't going to be able to make it on Friday so he changed his flight to get in on Thursday night.  Well, the storm had already hit Chicago and other areas up North.  So he was supposed to get in at 11 pm on Thursday night, but he didn't make it until 12:30.  Luckily he got in when he did because we got tons of snow on Friday.  There were flights delayed and cancelled all day.

We hung out with Oma and Opa all day Friday.  Dave and I went shopping because we were going to cook dinner for the family on Saturday.  The family from Canada were planning to all drive in but the storm was so bad that they couldn't make it.  We were really looking forward to seeing everyone, but there was no need to risk their safety.

On Saturday,  Melissa and Jacob came and we opened all the Christmas gifts.  We got very nice and beautiful things.  Melissa got Jacob a sled for one his Christmas presents and we decided to put the boys on it and pull them around.  Samuel has never seen snow or been on a sled.  He LOVED it.  He had the biggest smile on his face.  His cheeks and nose were frozen and he didn't even care.  It was so much fun to see him experiencing and enjoying something new.

We had to leave early on Sunday morning.  We left for the airport at 9 am.  We kept checking out flight to make sure it wasn't delayed, but unfortunately about 30 minutes before we were expected to board, the flight was delayed for another hour and 40 minutes.  It was terrible.  We finally got in last night into St. Louis at 4 pm.  We were travelling for 8 hours straight.  Thankfully Samuel did awesome.  We were all so tired last night.  We put Samuel to bed at 6:30 and we got in bed at 8.  Samuel slept until 6:45 this morning.

We had a wonderful time in Michigan.

I will post pictures next, I just wanted to get all this down.

Lastly, Samuel crawled up the stairs on Saturday.  All the way from the bottom to the top.  It was pretty cool.  Also, last night was the first night of Hanukkah.  Samuel loved the lighting of the candles.

Exciting

It is pretty exciting.  I finally got the wireless Internet working.  Last night I was on the phone with AT & T for about 30 minutes and we finally got it working.  Now, I can post and check my email and do whatever I want on the Internet upstairs while watching Samuel playing with his toys.  I can multi-task again.

Last night the family had our first true meal together.  I made pasta with meat sauce (with Bison meat).  Dave and I ate salad and Samuel ate peas.  There have been some foods that Samuel really loves like sweet potatoes and tofu (yes, he loves tofu), but nothing compares to the excitement he had when he ate the pasta and meat sauce.  I cut up the noodles, mixed it with the sauce and slopped it on his high chair plate.  He was double fisting the food.  He would take one hand full of food and shove it in his mouth and then take the hand with food and shove that in his mouth.  It was amazing and disgusting at the same time.  We took some pictures.

It wouldn't be a proper meal unless he shared it with George.  So, she got some dinner too.  Not to mention all the food that was on the floor.  George has a new place at dinner time, under Samuel's high chair.

I will not be posting for the next few days.  Samuel and I are leaving tomorrow morning to go to Michigan and then Dave will be joining us on Friday.  It is my first flight with Samuel alone.  I am a little nervous, but I know that Samuel will do great.  Well, I am going to get back to playing with Samuel.

Presents!

Samuel got to open his first wrapped present yesterday for Hanukkah and Christmas from Uncle Izzy and Aunt Kay.  We ripped the wrapping paper a little and then he tore it open.  He was so excited, like he knew that it was a gift for him.  We were so excited about him opening it that we forgot to take some pictures.  Anyway, he got the cutest sweater and puzzle.  Thank you Uncle Izzy and Aunt Kay!  I did take some picture of him today wearing his sweater and playing with his puzzle.

Yesterday I got my hair cut and colored again.  I told her to make it even darker then it was before.  I think it is starting to go back to my natural color.  I'm pretty sure my hair got darker after being pregnant.  Crazy what hormones can do.

We are venturing out of the house today.  I am meeting some old co-workers for lunch and then I have to run a few errands.  It is cold and a little snowy today.

It's Cold

Today the high is going to be under 20 degrees.  I think right now it is 12 degrees.  Freezing.  I am not sure what Samuel and I will be doing today because I don't really want to take him out.  We do have a few errands to run, so we will see.  We got 2 humidifiers yesterday because I house is super dry.  Anyway, I opened one box up and I guess it had been returned because there were a few parts missing.  We set one up in Samuel's room and we need one in our room also.

Last night we went to Zoo Lights at the St. Louis Zoo.  It hadn't gotten really cold yet, so it was a nice night to walk around the zoo and see all the lights on the trees.  The only animals out were the penguins.  They were cute, but extremely stinky.  Samuel didn't appreciate it very much.  I Have a picture of the family below.  You can see how much Samuel loved it.

Also, Samuel is obsessed with my water bottle.  I got a few pictures of him drinking out of the straw.  I think since I am always drinking out of it he has to do it as well.

Samuel is sooooo BIG.

He has to drink the water:

A little too much:

Here we are at the zoo.  You can see Samuel isn't very excited.

A few pictures from the afternoon

I was messing with my camera today and using the different settings to see if I could get some good pictures.  I think I got a few good ones.

Also, Samuel has started to do this strange looking crawl thing.  He is using one knee to crawl and then using one foot.  It is an interesting way to get around.  I tried to take some pictures so it would be explained better, but I don't know if the pictures do his new crawling style justice.  Anyway, I posted them below.

TGIF

I am so ready for the weekend.  I'm so ready to relax.  Not much is going on here.

I think I am going to be taking Samuel to Gymboree right by our house today.  You can go to one class for free to try it out and I figured that is what we would do.  Should be interesting.

I also wanted to wish Justin a Happy 31st Birthday today!

He is walking...with a little help

Samuel is wearing me out.  He is everywhere.  I turn my head for a second and he has taken off around the room.

He started to walk this past weekend with his little toy.  He is really good at going straight.  He doesn't really know what to do once it hits the wall.

I am off to run a few miles and shower before the monster wakes up.

Busy Weekend

I wish I could say that we relaxed this weekend, but we were really busy.  I tried to set up the stupid wireless router all weekend.  I have it connected to my computer now, but it is terrible.  I couldn't configure it with this desktop.  Then it worked with out laptop for a day and then stopped working.  I was on the phone with technical support for 2 hours on Saturday with two different guys and neither one of them could help me.  They didn't know why it wouldn't work.  I was so frustrated and in a terrible mood.  I am going to disconnect it about I have done all the stuff I need to do on the internet this morning and then I am going to return it today.  I decided that I am just going to call AT & T and get their wireless router because I am sick of dealing with this.  Hopefully they will be more helpful.

I already went to the grocery store this morning and I have tons more errands to do today.  Hopefully I will have a productive day.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

We have a 9 month old

I know I say this all the time, but I time really flies.  I can't believe that Samuel is 9 months old today.  He has grown so much and has developed so quickly.  I look at him sometimes and I am amazed that Dave and I made him.  It truly is a miracle.

So yesterday my Internet was down all day.  I was going crazy.  I think I screwed things up somehow because I tried to install our wireless router and then all of the sudden the Internet was gone.  I was on the hone with AT & T for about 20 minutes and they got me going again, but I really need to get this wireless thing set up so I can use my laptop.

Samuel has been super needy lately.  He has a runny nose, but I don't really think he is sick, he is just crabby.  He was wide awake this morning at 6 and I think that is because he couldn't breathe very well due to his stuffy nose.  He is already back asleep again and it is 7:15.  It is going to be an interesting day.

Yesterday I was looking through his clothes and I knew that I bought him an outfit many months ago.  In my head I thought it was huge and 24 month size.  I remember when I bought it I was thinking that it would be a long time before he could fit into it.  I pulled it out and it was 9 months size in the pants and 12 month in the shirt.  Thank goodness I found it now.  He fits into it perfectly.  I took some pictures.  I also include a shot of Samuel with all the family members.  There aren't many times that we remember to get pictures of ourselves too.

Since he is 9 months today, I am going to try desperately to get a good picture of him.  We need one for his monthly picture calendar and for the holiday card.  I will get a good one of him today!

My goal today is to set up the wireless router.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Yo man, what's up?

He LOVES George.

Happy Birthday Oma

I wanted to wish Oma and very Happy Birthday today.  We love you!

The Statistics

We went to Samuel's 9 month appointment yesterday.  He has grown a ton.

At 6 months he was 64% in height and 76% in weight.  Now at 9 months he is 29 inches, which is 76% and 22 lbs 6.5 oz which is 79%.  His head circ. was 45 cm which is 42%.  I seriously don't know how he can have such a small head.  Anyway, he is a big boy.

We talked to the doctor about his lack of sleeping through the night and we were told that he is big enough to go 12 hours without eating.  They told us to let  him cry it out.  So last night we did just that and it wasn't easy.  He cried off and on for an hour from 12:30 to 1:30.  We will see how it goes tonight.  I hate that we are having to deal with sleep issues, but I guess if that is the only major thing then we are doing okay.

Some pictures from this morning.
