Birthday, Cousins and Nightmares

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Mom!  To many more amazing years.  We love you so much.

The boys officially met their cousin, Haidyn today.  Samuel was gentle as always, but Joseph was a little jealous.  He didn't like it when I held Haidyn and he didn't like it when Samuel held her either.  Joseph was no cooperating for pictures, but this is a pretty cute picture.  Hopefully we can get a better one in the next few days.  She is so adorable and so tiny.  I can't wait to spend more time with her.

Anyone know how to deal with kids with nightmares?  Samuel has been having nightmares for at least a few weeks now.  He wakes up screaming at least one or two times a night.  We go in and tell him it is okay and calm him down and he goes right back to sleep, but this is happening every night.  He doesn't watch anything scary on TV and we don't read him scary books at night.  We started to make George sleep with him at night and tell him that George will keep him safe.  That has reduced his nightmares to only one a night, but it still keeps happening.  Any suggestions would be great.

I am off to finish my 2011 calendar.

I am sad that the weekend is over.  It went by so quickly.  I had a wonderful night out with Dave on Friday night and then we stayed in on Saturday night and just ordered food and relaxed.  It was a very nice relaxing birthday.  We did however, pack and clean up our house all weekend.  It is getting pretty close to looking good.  I have a lot of work to do tomorrow and Tuesday to get things ready for the photographer to come and take pictures of the house.  Hopefully it will at least look picture ready by Wednesday.

I am starting to think about how I want to decorate the new baby's nursery.  I am searching for really cool modern wall decals.  I found a really cool website and I am listing it here, so I won't forget about it. (dezignwithaz.com)  If you guys know of any other websites that you like, please pass it along.

I am hoping that I will have time to get a nursery ready in a new house, but if I don't we all will live.

I am going to go to bed now.

What a Surprise

Well, I couldn't have asked for a better birthday.  I want to thank everyone for coming in town and being at the party to celebrate.  Dave really outdid himself this time.  Our house is still super clean if anyone wants to come over, we also have tons of birthday cake.

I will try to post pictures a little later after I go through the hundreds that were taken.

Thank you all so much!

Happy Birthday to me!

Well I am the big 30 today.  Pretty scary.  I can't believe it.  I have been relaxing all morning.  My mom, dad, Samuel, George and I went on a walk and now I am off to shower and get ready for the day.

I get my new camera this afternoon when Dave gets off work.  Pretty sure I am getting the Canon XTI.  Can't wait to post pictures with my new camera.

Tomorrow is my birthday party!  I didn't think I had a birthday party in my adult life, but then Megan reminded me of my 21st (I had a big party and didn't even make it to the bar that night).  I don't really consider my 21st real adult life though.  Being in college in celebrating a birthday isn't the same.  I wasn't married, didn't have a house, hadn't worked and didn't have a kid.  I am officially and adult now.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Food

Yesterday we gave Samuel rice cereal for the first time.  He LOVED it.  I tasted it because I wanted to know what he was eating and it tasted really sweet, so I am not surprised that he liked it.  We took some pictures of both Dave and I feeding him.  You will also see, every time the food started to come towards him he would stick his tongue out.  Several times he grabbed the spoon and tried to shove it in his mouth as fast as possible.  Did we wait too long?  Maybe he was starving.

Dave and I started a Liver Enhancement Diet yesterday.  We can't eat meat or much cheese (only a tiny bit of feta), dairy, starches or breads. Oh we are also not supposed to drink coffee, soda, juice.  (We did have coffee.  We are slowly going to cut that out, but we can't go cold turkey).  We can eat tons of veggies, nuts, plain yogurt, minimal fruit (but only blueberries, strawberries, grapefruit), we can eat as many apples as we want, a little bit of natural organic peanut butter.  It was difficult yesterday, but today we actually felt great.  We both had a ton of energy and felt much better.  We are going to do it for 2 weeks, so I will let you all know how it is going.  We both need to lose lots of weight, so hopefully it will help with that.

Lastly, my 30th birthday is in August and I am asking for a camera.  Anyone have opinions on either a Canon or Nikon? I have to do research and figure out which one I want.  I want a really nice one. (Not like thousands of dollars nice, but a really nice one that will take clean crisp photos and fast shutter speed and reloading).

That is it for now.  We are going to run a few errands and maybe hit the pool.
